Man accused of gunpoint robbery in Randolph captured after allegedly fleeing scene

RANDOLPH — A second suspect who allegedly fled the scene of an armed robbery in Randolph last week was arrested on Friday, Randolph Police Chief Anthony Marag announced in a written statement.

On Friday, May 17, Randolph Police and Malden Police arrested Eliezer Beato, 20, of Malden, at a residence on Warren Avenue in Malden, police said. During a search of his person police seized eight stolen checks, they said.

Beato was identified as the second suspect in an armed robbery in Randolph where two men allegedly used a black revolver to rob a person in a vehicle on Johnson Drive last Monday. No injuries were reported during the robbery, police said.

Both men fled the scene, prompting a large police response as they attempted to locate both suspects.

According to reporting by Enterprise news partner WCVB, a witness says the suspects fled in a white car, but when they pulled into a cul-de-sac, they abandoned the car and continued on foot.

Shaun Culbreath-Isles, 18, of Malden, was taken into custody by Randolph Police after a foot pursuit. He had allegedly stolen jewelry and a cell phone from the victim, police said. He was also found to be in possession of stolen checks, they said.

He was charged with armed robbery, possession of a firearm without an FID Card, possession of burglary tools and receiving stolen property, police said.

Beato, then unidentified, also fled the scene on foot and evaded police capture, police said.

Through a subsequent investigation, Randolph Police identified Beato as the second suspect allegedly involved in the armed robbery, police said.

He was arrested on Friday, May 17, and transported to the Randolph Police Department where he was booked and charged with armed robbery, malicious destruction of property and resisting arrest.

He was arraigned in Quincy District Court Friday afternoon.
