Man, 26, dies after pickup truck rolls over, strikes culvert in rural Kansas

A 26-year-old McPherson man died in a single-vehicle rollover accident near Burrton, Kansas on Tuesday.

He was identified as Cody Curl, Harvey County spokesperson Kyle McCaskey said in a news release.

Emergency responders were sent to a rollover injury accident at about 4:50 p.m. in the 4300 block of South Burmac Road just south of Burrton between Newton and Hutchinson.

Curl had been heading southbound on Burmac in his Ford pickup truck when it left the road, struck a culvert and rolled several times, the release said.

Emergency responders performed life-saving measures, but Curl died at the scene of the crash from his injuries, according to the release.

Curl was the one person in the pickup.

Burrton is roughly 38 miles northwest of Wichita.
