Malone University to host Big Day, a new Christian music festival, on Sept. 7

CANTON – A new Christian music festival is coming to Malone University.The event — called Big Day at Malone — will be held Sept. 7 and include food trucks, inflatables, games and activities, and local worship bands.

The headlining performers will be Joseph O’Brien, Josiah Queen, and indie tribe. The bands will perform in the Johnson Center for Worship and the Fine Arts.

“We’re excited to launch the Big Day Fest this fall just as the new school year begins,” Vice President for Enrollment and Marketing Eric Young said in a prepared statement. “We are looking forward to the festival as an additional opportunity to connect with regional churches and youth groups as we continue to serve as a hub for Christian education and culture in northeast Ohio.”

The festival opens at noon.

Who are the Big Day at Malone performers?

O’Brien is a singer/songwriter based out of Nashville. He appeared on "America's Got Talent" and was signed to the Gotee label. His latest single is "Down in My Heart."

Queen recorded his debut track, “God of Miracles” at age 16.
