Made In Chelsea’s Spencer Matthews teams up with Disney+ for “emotional” documentary
Former Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews is teaming up with Disney+ for an “emotional” documentary.
The reality television star climbed Mount Everest in a bid to find his late brother’s final resting place, with the streaming service filming his journey.
Spencer’s brother, Michael, died at the age of 22 when trying to climb the mountain’s highest peak in 1999, with his body never being recovered.

Speaking with The Sun, Spencer said he underwent therapy before starting the climb, saying: “It was important for me to get my head around the fact I might come face to face with my brother’s frozen body. I knew it was going to be a gut-wrenching and emotional journey.”
He unveiled his new podcast, titled Big Fish with Spencer Matthews, last week, with his first guest being former SAS: Who Dares Wins host Ant Middleton.
In the episode, Spencer revealed he only recently “processed” Michael’s death, which occurred when he was only 10.

“Losing him was not something I fully understood. Mike was my superhero figure in my life. I just assumed he'd come back,” he said. “I didn't believe that he was dead for a period of time, [but] as time passed, I understood I would never see him again. I've always had this burning desire to find him.”
Spencer revealed he became close with people on the mountain during his ascent, disclosing that one of his co-climbers came back a changed man after losing 20 kilos.
Earlier this year, Spencer and wife Vogue Williams welcomed their third child, with the latter writing on Instagram: “We are so happy to announce that our beautiful boy arrived safely on Monday evening. Bursting with love he is the perfect addition to our family.”
Made in Chelsea airs on E4.
