Black Panther star Lupita Nyong'o has revealed that Djimon Hounsou will reprise his role from A Quiet Place Part II in the upcoming prequel movie.

Hounsou appeared in A Quiet Place Part II as Man on Island (his actual credited character name) but was killed off later in the movie.

However, A Quiet Place: Day One is set well before the events of both movies and will depict how the alien monsters came to arrive on Earth and how humanity initially reacted before the apocalypse came about.

In a new Instagram post, Nyong'o shared a photo of her alongside her fellow co-stars: Hereditary's Alex Wolff, Stranger Things' Joseph Quinn, and Hounsou — officially confirming Hounsou's return to the franchise for the first time.

"See y̶o̶u̶ us in exactly 1 year," Nyong'o captioned the post, confirming the release date to be March 8, 2024.

The first two movies were directed by John Krasinski, but the former The Office star won't return as director for this one (he does have a story and producing credit, though). Instead, Michael Sarnoski will take charge.

However, Krasinski, who is married to A Quiet Place star Emily Blunt, did reveal last month that the third A Quiet Place movie has already started filming and he's excited to see the finished product.

"Requisite photo of slate on day 1... this time with a twist! So honoured to be there day 1 of @aquietplacemovie DAY ONE with the maestro Michael Sarnoski and legendary @lupitanyongo," Krasinski wrote on Instagram.

"Cannot wait to see what magic they conjure in this one!"

A Quiet Place: Day One is scheduled to reach cinemas on March 8, 2024.
