Mere hours after Lupita Nyong’o was seen carrying a cat purse on the red carpet, the Oscar-winning actor decided to trade out her accessory for the real thing. Could this be the return of the pet-as-fashion-accessory trend?

Well, while Nyong’o is the proud mom of a cat named Yoyo, the furry friend she brought onto the carpet yesterday wasn’t actually a pet, but rather one of the actor’s costars from her new horror flick A Quiet Place: Day One. Named Schnitzel, the black-and-white feline accompanied Nyong’o at a London photo call for the film.

For the press event, Nyong’o chose a pink lemonade-colored pantsuit from Akris. Her frequent stylist Micaela Erlanger put her in an eye-popping set that consisted of a double breasted blazer with grapefruit-colored buttons and two front pockets. The linen suit was slightly transparent, so the duo layered a bubblegum top underneath, which peeked out from behind the blazer’s lapels. They also added a pair of pointy white pumps.

Nyong’o went regal with her accessories, which included a wide, sparkly diamond collar necklace that was constructed like a web of gems, and a cuff bracelet to match. Then, she added on diamond earrings and a large silver ring. For Schnitzel’s part, the cat wore a black bandanna with white polka dots, as well as a black bowtie, which added a dapper touch to his red-carpet fit.

Felines have really been a theme through the Quiet Place: Day One press tour. When Nyong’o attended the Paris photo call, she didn’t have Schnitzel in her arms, but she did wink to her costar when she carried a sparkly silver purse that was shaped like a cat. Then, during that same stop, Nyong’o was seen wearing a cheetah-printed catsuit from Dolce & Gabbana, which she paired with a matching handbag, a hat with literal cat ears, and shiny pumps. We always love a look with some claws.
