Lucy Boynton praises David Corenswet reunion on The Greatest Hits

Lucy Boynton has praised David Corenswet following their reunion on the time-travel romance The Greatest Hits.

The Disney+ film follows Harriet (Boynton), who is left reeling following the death of her boyfriend, Max (Corenswet).

After discovering that certain songs have the power to literally take her back in time, Harriet must decide if her cherished memories take precedence over her burgeoning romance with a new love interest (Justin H Min).

Boynton and Corenswet have previously worked together on The Politician, where Corenswet also played the deceased partner of Boynton’s character — a fact that Boynton remarked on in an exclusive interview with Digital Spy.

“Weirdly, he'd played my dead boyfriend before, so I've got used to grieving his face,” she quipped. “My relationship with him is very specific. You know each others' idiosyncrasies and how you work, how you approach scenes.

“He's so collaborative. He loves to dig into the material, and so knowing that going in was just a gift. You immediately get to shortcut that process and dive right in with him. He's such a collaborative, energetic scene partner, so I was so glad to be back.”

Boynton also joked that she and Corenswet should collaborate for a third time in which he plays a deceased partner, adding: “The next one we've said that I'm going to kill him in the third [movie]. It has to happen.”

Boynton also explained the central concept of The Greatest Hits, which sees Harriet transported to the moment she first heard a particular song upon hearing it again, with the actor revealing that most of the original tracks remain throughout production.

“Very few of those songs have changed,” she revealed. “It was useful to know the tone. You're so close to the flame that it was great to see the bigger picture, especially with those time-travelling moments. We knew the trigger songs, so it was really useful to be so consumed in it.”

The Greatest Hits is released on Disney+ in the UK and on Hulu in the US on April 12.
