Hello A-J readers!

This week, we delved into wine, fine dining and other business news.

Earlier in the week, I visited Bingham Family Vineyards and Bingham Family Farms just outside of Meadow. The family and staff detailed the land's 123-year history, from cotton to peanuts to wine. They recently released a new wine through H-E-B in honor of Blake Eddie Bingham, who died in 2021. The wine helps fund the Blake Eddie Scholarship, which helps viticulture and enology students at Texas Tech University and Texas A&M.

“I’m sure he’s probably watching from heaven, just elated,” said Cliff Bingham, Blake's father and owner of the vineyards and farms with his wife, Betty Bingham. “God called us to be helpers and servers, and that’s what Blake would be doing all the time."

Make sure to read the article for all the details on how Blake Eddie is continuing to make a difference. Another article, which will be published in the coming days, will explore the Bingham family's long history with the land and the Texas wine industry.

On Wednesday, Chez Sami / Il Dolce Far Niente announced their Wolfforth location would close with a final meal on June 15. This news came after Chez Sami opened the Lubbock location at 1219 Crickets Ave. in November, which will not be impacted by the closure.

The Rollin' Cones, an ice cream truck that opened last year, announced it will be opening a storefront and drive-thru in August or September. The new location will be at 3006 34th St., which was formerly Tom & Bingo's BBQ.

I also heard of a deal that people can get at Twisted Root, 116 W. Loop 289 Access Road, on Tuesday, which is National Hamburger Day. Twisted Root will have $7 Classic Burgers available.

Going into next week, I hope to hear back from several potential new businesses.

As always, thank you for reading and supporting the A-J.
