Lubbock airport fire training will produce visible smoke, flames Tuesday

Lubbock airport firefighters will be conducting live fire training Tuesday, meaning Lubbockites could see smoke and flames coming from the area of Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport.

The training will take place at the LPSIA Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighter (ARFF) Training Facility Tuesday from 8 a.m. to noon, according to the City of Lubbock. The training will include a live burn, and smoke and flames may be visible from the communities surrounding the airport, the city said.
