LSU women's basketball v. South Carolina in SEC Tournament championship game: Live updates

GREENVILLE, S.C. ― For the first time in 12 years, LSU women's basketball is playing for an SEC Tournament championship Sunday.

Kim Mulkey and the No. 2 Tigers (28-4) will face No. 1 South Carolina (31-0) for the league title inside a sold-out Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The game is scheduled for 2 p.m. CT on ESPN.

LSU survived Ole Miss, 75-67, in the tournament semifinals Saturday night, a game that was marred by a scary injury to junior guard Last-Tear Poa. Stars Angel Reese and Flau'jae Johnson led the way for the Tigers, both recording 21 points. Reese collected her 11th straight double-double, including 17 rebounds.

South Carolina won in dramatic fashion in its semifinal against Tennessee. Star center Kamilla Cardoso, who had attempted one 3-pointer in her four-year college career, knocked down a triple as time expired to lift the Gamecocks and preserve their perfect season, 74-73.

LSU and South Carolina battled in an instant classic during the regular season inside Pete Maravich Assembly Center in Baton Rouge. The Tigers led for much of that game, but South Carolina rallied to win, 76-70.
