LSU QB Jayden Daniels' elbow draws social media reactions after bizarre photo goes viral
Over the past several weeks, Jayden Daniels has been put under a more intense and rigorous watch than he ever has before in his career — which, for a Heisman Trophy winner who just finished playing two seasons at a prestigious program with one of the more fervent fan bases in college football, is saying a lot.
The NFL draft process subjects any prospect to scrutiny and occasionally uncomfortably close examinations. For quarterbacks, the players with the biggest role in determining the success of a professional franchise, that’s doubly true.
As the former LSU quarterback enters the final weeks of preparation before the 2024 NFL Draft, that metaphorical microscope has shifted its gaze to something that’s pretty visually grotesque.

On Tuesday, Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network reported on X, that social media platform formerly known as Twitter, that Daniels is scheduled to meet with the New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, Denver Broncos and Las Vegas Raiders following his pro day. That news, while notable, isn’t particularly surprising. Coming off of his stellar 2023 season with the Tigers, Daniels is widely projected to be among the first three picks in the draft, with a slew of quarterback-needy teams craving what he could provide for them.
With his report, though, Rappaport included a picture of Daniels beginning to throw a ball, with his elbow in a position that could be generously described as unnatural-looking.

As jarring as the photo of Daniels' elbow is, there might be an explanation for its appearance.
Jayden Daniels appears to be dealing with olecranon bursitis of his right throwing elbow.
