Charles Turner III of Canton is headed to the NFL as an undrafted free agent. The former LSU standout signed with the New England Patriots on Saturday night after the 2024 draft ended. Turner shared the news on his Instagram account.

Turner played with aggression and physicality at LSU. He holds blocks and displayed the ability to recover at times when he gets beat by the first step. By NFL standards, Turner is undersized and doesn't have the best hand-technique.
Turner did not participate in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine, instead opting to do the vertical jump (31 inches), broad jump (9.1 inches), three-cone drill (7.88 seconds) and 20-yard shuttle (4.62 seconds). Per Next Gen Stats, Turner did not perform well, ranking 16th among all center prospects.

Turner started 26 of 40 career games for the Tigers. He gave up just one sack during the 2023 season and was only called for three penalties.
Turner's work up front helped Jayden Daniels win the Heisman Trophy this past season. Daniels was the No. 2 overall pick in the draft Thursday night, going to the Washington Commanders.
