Loveland native, standout QB Drew Plitt to sign with Bengals practice squad, per report
Amid the news regarding Joe Burrow's season-ending injury, fans may be delighted to hear that the Cincinnati Bengals are expected to bring back a familiar face to fortify their quarterback slot.
Pending a physical, Drew Plitt, a Loveland High School graduate, is expected to sign to the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad sometime soon, according to Olivia Ray of WLWT.

With the injury to Burrow, backup Jake Browning is in position to fill in as the Bengals' starting quarterback for the rest of the season. Backing up Browning will be AJ McCarron while Plitt will likely be elevated to the 53-man roster as the third-string option once Burrow is placed on the injured reserve.
The 6-foot-2, 205-pound Plitt is best known at Loveland for becoming the starting quarterback as a sophomore of the 2013 team that went 15-0 and defeated Cleveland Glenville in the snow in Canton for the school's first state football title.
Not only is Plitt a local kid, he's already signed with the Bengals once before as an undrafted free agent in 2022 following a fruitful career at Ball State. He spent training camp with the Bengals and performed well in the team's preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals, completing all six pass attempts for 76 yards and one touchdown. However, he was waived by the Bengals shortly after.
Later that year, Plitt went on to play for the Arlington Renegades of the XFL. Despite suffering a knee injury, Plitt played in five games and started three times during the 2023 season, recording 63 completions on 100 attempts, 668 passing yards, three touchdowns, five interceptions and a 71.6 QBR.
When Burrow went down with a calf injury during training camp this past summer, NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported the 25-year-old Plitt, along with Reid Sinnett, joined the Bengals for workouts.
