Love Island USA: Ariana Madix to Replace Sarah Hyland as Host

Ariana Madix’s revenge tour continues: The Vanderpump Rules star has been named the new host of Peacock’s Love Island USA, replacing Sarah Hyland, TVLine has learned.

Madix takes over for Modern Family alum Hyland, who hosted the past two seasons of the show after it moved from CBS to Peacock. (The first three seasons on CBS were hosted by Arielle Vandenberg.) Hyland confirmed her exit in an Instagram Story, saying that “I have committed to an exciting project that will be announced soon that conflicts directly with the shooting dates for Love Island USA. While I’m sad I can’t return, I hope to see lots of love this summer on Peacock this upcoming season!”

Madix has been a cast member of the Bravo reality series Vanderpump Rules since Season 2 and shot to national notoriety last year when it was revealed her live-in boyfriend and Vanderpump Rules co-star Tom Sandoval was cheating on her with her friend and fellow cast member Rachel Leviss. The ensuing scandal, dubbed “Scandoval,” became a media sensation and drove Vanderpump Rules to new ratings highs. Madix went on to compete on Dancing With the Stars last season, making it all the way to the season finale and ultimately finishing third.

This isn’t Madix’s first stay on Love Island USA, either: She made a special guest appearance in Season 5, surprising the islanders during the season’s second week. Love Island USA, modeled after the hit UK dating show Love Island, brings together a group of sexy singles in a tropical villa, where they couple up in hopes of winning a $100,000 grand prize. It was renewed for two more seasons by Peacock in November.
