'Love is Blind' contestant has ties to Wilmington, says experience was 'very positive'

While you may have seen social media snippets of relationship drama from the current season of Netflix's "Love is Blind," which aired its finale March 6, you may not know that one of the contestants has ties to Wilmington.

Alejandra Toro, a 28-year-old financial consultant, is well-known for her makeup, beauty, fashion, and facial expressions from her appearance on Season 6. She was born in The Bronx, New York, and moved to Wilmington after graduating from college, according to a YouTube video published by Toro in 2018.

While in Wilmington, Toro worked for two years at Ulta Beauty and for just over a year as the assistant manager of Bank of America, according to her LinkedIn profile. In 2021, Toro moved to Cornelius, North Carolina, working as an assistant manager with Regions Bank.

Toro, who said that the "the key to (her) heart is honest communication," explained her Love is Blind experience in a TikTok video published in February.

"My pod experience was very, very positive and it was definitely something that I will never forget," Toro said. The former cheerleader has gone viral on the social media platform for numerous videos about her participation in the dating experiment.

While Toro didn't find a match on the show, she shared her feelings about the screen time that she did receive.

"I'm just really happy that when you did see me, I was really playing the role of a supportive friend, a listening ear, and just like a mediator in some sense," Toro said. "I know that the whole entire point of the show is to find love in the pods, but the reality is that I found love in the women's quarters as well."

The reunion for the Season 6 cast will air on March 13 on Netflix.

Where does 'Love Is Blind' Season 6 take place?

Season 6 of "Love is Blind" is set in Charlotte, North Carolina. Previously, Season 5 of the show was set in Houston, Season 4 in Seattle and Season 3 in Dallas.
