Lourdes hires new CEO for Pasco hospital, clinics. He began his career in nursing

Lourdes Health has named a new chief executive officer who brings more than two decades of leadership experience to the Pasco hospital and Lourdes clinics.

Mark Holyoak comes to Pasco, Wash., from his position as chief executive of Wilson Medical Center in Wilson, N.C., since 2018.

“Mark’s vast operational and clinical leadership will undoubtedly be an asset to Lourdes and the entire Pasco community,” said Sandy Podley, president of Lifepoint Health’s Western Division, which includes Lourdes health.

“Mark began his health care career as a nurse, and he is passionate about supporting frontline caregivers,” she said. “His track record in provider recruitment, patient satisfaction and improving quality care will serve our Lourdes Health patients and the entire Pasco community.”

Before leading Wilson Medical Center, Holyoak was chief operating officer and then CEO of Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah. He also was the chief nursing/clinical officer for a decade at Ashley Regional Medical Center in Vernal, Utah.

Holyoak called the Lourdes Health workers “talented, passionate and resilient” and said he is committed to ensuring the hospital continues to provide high quality health care.

He is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Lifepoint Health Fleetwood Operational Excellence Award Winner.

He holds a bachelor of science degree in both nursing and biology and chemistry and a master of business administration earned at the University of Phoenix in Salt Lake City.
