Louisville police investigate after man found dead on SB I-65 by Arthur Street ramp
Louisville Metro Police officials are investigating an apparent hit-and-run crash that left a man dead Monday morning on southbound Interstate 65.
Fourth Division officers responded to a report of a person "seemingly struck" on the highway at the Arthur Street ramp at about 9:15 a.m., according to a statement from department spokesperson John Bradley.
An adult man who had been hit by a car was found in the right emergency lane, Bradley said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man who was killed has not yet been identified by the Jefferson County Coroner's Office.
LMPD's traffic unit is investigating. It is not yet know what type of vehicle hit the man, Bradley said.
The Arthur Street exit and left lane on I-65 South were open by 10:15 a.m., Bradley said, while the right lane remained closed as officers continue to investigate. Rainy conditions swept through Louisville throughout Monday morning, with more wet weather in the forecast later this week.
