Louisville Mega Cavern’s zip line will be glowing this Memorial Day weekend

Louisville Mega Cavern

Louisville Mega Cavern unveiled its Neon Rush Zip Lines, the very first glow-in-the-dark zip line experience, opening on May 24 that includes vibrant colors, lights and music during the ride.

The neon zip line experience is unique to the Louisville Mega Cavern as it is the “world’s only fully underground zip line course,” according to a Louisville Mega Cavern press release.

The new zip line course is a creative extension of the Laser Zip attraction that the Louisville Mega Cavern hosted two years ago. Laser Zip featured laser lights throughout the zip line course, while Neon Rush has laser lights, neon elements, music and props.

“It’s like nothing we’ve ever done before, and quite honestly, I don’t think any other place has done,” Louisville Mega Cavern Senior Director of Marketing Lauren Parker said. “It’s a totally new experience that transforms the cavern into a vibrant spectacle of color, light, and music. I’m hoping that families, friends and all visitors that come have a really good time and love the attraction.”

The Neon Rush zip line course consists of five total zip lines, and the complete tour takes “about two hours and 30 minutes,” Parker said.

“Our Neon Rush Zip lines will feature visually interactive elements and surprises along every zip,” Charles Park, Louisville Mega Cavern Executive Vice President said.

While the attraction is set to open this weekend, there is no set end date.

“We wanted to start with a great holiday summer weekend, there’s no end date as of yet because it’s that exciting,” Parker said. “We’ll probably keep it throughout the entire summer.”

Tickets for the attraction can be purchased online through the Louisville Mega Cavern website at louisvillemegacavern.com or onsite and priced at $114.99. Guests must be at least 7-years-old and weight between 55-285 pounds. Guests under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult 18 years-old or older.
