Lottery player sees he won big in email, but thought it was a scam. ‘I was shocked!’

Certain the email he received saying he won the lottery was a scam, a Michigan man dialed up lottery officials.

It’s then when the 43-year-old realized it wasn’t a scam — he was a $100,000 winner.

The Wayne County man earned entries into the second chance drawing by scanning his non-winning $6,000,000 Jackpot game tickets. He was skeptical about his chances, however.

“I figured I might as well give it a try,” he told lottery officials.

An email informed him that he was the big winner, but he assumed it was a joke.

But it wasn’t, and now the lottery winner plans on saving his $100,000 prize.

“I was shocked!” he said. “Winning still doesn’t seem real and I don’t think it will sink in for a while.”

The $100,000 prize is the top payout offered in the second chance game.
