Looking for a Thanksgiving Day activity in Indianapolis? Make a run for a cause

There is not a whole lot going on in Indianapolis on Thanksgiving Day. Sure, a couple of megastores are opening with limited hours and there's a nifty towering Nutcracker Palladiscope projection show in Carmel.

But anyone looking for events on the day, are going to have to make a run for it.

The area offers a plethora of runs and walks; many benefiting local causes. Some offer the chance to donate virtually.

Should you be so moved, here are a couple to keep in mind.

Runners race with costumes during the 19th annual Drumstick Dash on Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021, in Broad Ripple Village. The run returned this year after being held virtually last year due to COVID-19. The event benefits Wheeler Mission, an organization that helps the homeless.
