Myrtle Beach area fisherman might be excited to hear that our city was ranked as the best place to fish during Fourth of July weekend by FishingBooker. Below Myrtle Beach on that list are locations in Florida, Maine, California, Minnesota, Michigan, Washington and Wyoming.

“Not only is there tons of variety [in Myrtle Beach] in terms of fish species, but July’s the best time of year to check them all out. For newcomers to the hobby, there’s plenty of Redfish, Spotted Seatrout and Flounder to be found inshore,” the site read. “If you’re hankering for a challenge, why not seek out Tarpon.”

The whole grand strand has many great fishing spots, and the Myrtle Beach area in particular is home to quite a few such as the Myrtle Beach State Park Pier, Apache Pier, Cherry Grove Pier and Hog Inlet Point at Cherry Grove.
