Take a look at what's available in Rockford Speedway online auction set to start Monday

The Rockford Speedway online auction begins on Monday and runs through June 3, and most of the items up for sale were on display around the old site on Wednesday.

All that's left now is the online Rockford Speedway Auction, held by Steffes Auctioneers.

After 76 years of racing, the Rockford Speedway shut down for good after its final race on Oct. 28, 2023. Now everything from the buildings, grandstands and playground equipment, as well as a lot of Rockford Speedway memorabilia, will go up for auction.

There will be over 1,200 lots, according to the Rockford Speedway website, all of which will be offered through four rings.

Before last season began they announced that the 50-acre site had been sold for commercial development and that was the final race year. This auction is the grand finale.

"It's tough to say goodbye," Jack Deery, a member of the Rockford Speedway's owning family, said.

The items are posted, with pictures, online at steffesgroup.com.

The four rings of the auction will be: Ring 1 will be the grandstands, bleachers and more; Ring 2 will be food and concession equipment, and more; Ring 3 will be buildings, playground equipment, and more; and Ring 4 will be Rockford Speedway and racing memorabilia.
