Look: Warriors Fans Loving Klay Thompson’s New Photo

Injuries have sidelined Golden State Warriors all-world shooting guard Klay Thompson for the past two seasons. But a new photo the five-time All-Star just posted should give fans hope for this year – or at least a good laugh.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, Thompson posted a picture of himself dressed as Will Ferrell’s character Jackie Moon from the basketball movie Semi Pro. He was wearing the headband and short-shorts as he stepped up to take a shot.

Needless to say, fans were absolutely delighted to see Thompson invoking the basketball movie in his return. His post has over 400,000 likes since yesterday.

“Stoked you’re back!! The game hasnt been the same without you,” tennis star Reilly Opelka replied on IG.

“Coach, manager, player, and owner,” Jake Kyman replied.

“Everybody love everybody,” Jordan Lawley wrote, referencing Jackie Moon’s mantra in Semi-Pro.

“Just don’t go trading @stephencurry30 for a washing machine…” golfer Justin Thomas said, invoking a scene from the film.

Klay Thompson suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the 2019 NBA Finals. The injury cost him the 2019-20 season, but he appeared ready to play heading into the 2020-21 season.

Sadly, an Achilles tendon injury Thompson suffered in a pickup game ended his hopes of playing this past year.

It will be great to see Thompson back on the court in a Warriors uniform. It’ll be even better if he returns at the perennial All-Star form he was in before.
