Jeff Passan usually has the MLB world buzzing because of a bombshell report or hilarious meme. On Wednesday, he stunned his followers by firing off an emphatic tweet directed toward defense attorney David Wohl.

This entire Twitter exchange stems from Passan’s post about New York Mets general manager Zack Scott allegedly driving drunk.

On the night of New York Mets GM Zack Scott was arrested for allegedly driving drunk, he was at the Connecticut home of team owner Steve Cohen, sources tell ESPN,” Passan wrote. “A fundraiser for the team’s Amazin’ Mets Foundation was being held at the house, and Scott and players were there.”

For some reason, Wohl didn’t like the way Passan worded that tweet.

“And? I guess you’re desperately trying to smear Cohen because you’ve got nothing else to do,” Wohl tweeted at Passan.

Instead of ignoring that tweet from Wohl, Passan brought up Wohl’s son, Jacob, who was arrested on felony charges for allegedly illicit securities sales.

I suppose whatever I have to do is better than what you have to do, which is visit your son in jail,” Passan responded.

Passan’s tweet already has over 10,000 likes and countless replies.

It’s too early to tell if Passan will be disciplined for this tweet. We’d imagine ESPN is not very happy with this response.
