After several weeks in Tokyo for the Summer Olympics, champion gymnast Simone Biles is back in the United States. Unfortunately, her triumphant return was quickly marred by an injury.

On Friday, Biles revealed that she suffered a finger injury after being bit by a German Shepherd. TMZ revealed that Biles had to go to see a doctor to get a tetanus shot, and shared the photo of her injured finger.

“Here’s an update on my finger that the dog bit me,” Biles said. “German Shepherds don’t play.”

Details surrounding the dog attack are unclear. But Biles appears to be in very good spirits. Video shared with TMZ even shows her laughing about what happened soon afterwards.

“This dog at the farm just said NOT TODAY,” Biles said in the video.

Simone Biles had a rough time at the Summer Olympics. She withdrew from several events, citing mental health issues, but still managed to finish with silver and bronze medals.

It’s good to see that Biles’ struggles in Tokyo didn’t follow her back to the United States. If you can keep a smile on your face after getting your finger gnawed by a German Shepherd, there’s not much you can’t handle.

Hopefully this injury doesn’t keep Biles from getting back to doing what she loves for long.

Have a good recovery!
