Earlier this week, golf analyst and social media superstar Paige Spiranac had a blunt message for casual golfers.
A question was asked on social media, wondering if a casual golfer could turn pro and compete for majors if they quit their job. It’s a question often asked in office settings.
Only this time, it went viral on social media.
“Help me settle this heated debate. Do you think, if you were 30 years old and quit your job, had unlimited [money] and dedicated every minute to practicing, training diet to becoming a successful pro golfer. Would you eventually win, or consistently contend at Majors?” the question stated.

Well, Paige Spiranac – who once played professionally – knows the answer. “No, and anyone who thinks they can don’t understand how hard it is to get to that next level,” she said.
She has a point. The best golfers in the world struggle to contend in majors each and every season. Tiger Woods has won 15 majors during his career, but even he missed the cut at a few over that stretch of time.
