Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets got the better of Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in a game earlier this month. But there was one controversial moment in that game involving Durant that Embiid decided to open up about.

Appearing on The Old Man & The Three, Embiid admonished Durant for apparently flopping during the first quarter. Embiid said that people who flop should “stay up” if they’re “man enough” and that what Durant did in that moment was a flop.

“We talk about flopping, I felt like this was a flop,” Embiid said. “If you’re man enough, if you get hit, don’t flop. Stay up.”

The video has over 43,000 views on YouTube in just a few hours and thousands of more likes and retweets on Twitter.

The incident in question saw Joel Embiid bump Kevin Durant while he was inside the paint. Durant fell backwards, and Embiid was called for a foul. The two promptly got into each other’s faces and “had some words” for each other after.

You be the judge. Did Durant flop here?

The Philadelphia 76ers are 6-4 since that loss and are closing in on a high seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.

Meanwhile, the Brooklyn Nets now have the services of Kyrie Irving for their future home games and are also close to securing a playoff berth.

Depending on how the seeding plays out, there’s a chance that the 76ers and Nets go head-to-head in the playoffs.

We’ll really get to see if Kevin Durant takes Joel Embiid’s “advice” if that happens.
