The Detroit Tigers threw it away last night.

Literally.

In one of the more bizarre walk-off finishes you’ll see, the Minnesota Twins were able to steal a home win on an error-filled final sequence that allowed two runs to score.

It started with Tigers outfielder Robbie Grossman muffing a line drive, before Detroit wasn’t able to capitalize on a baserunning mistake by Minnesota; with the Tigers’ catcher inexplicably sailing a ball over the head of the third baseman well into left field.

MLB fans reacted to the Tigers’ final inning miscues on social media.

“Wow. As an experience men’s slow pitch softball catcher, I can say with confidence I would never make such an error,” tweeted one user.

“I’d simply die,” cried another fan.

“I mean these are ‘pro’ athletes,” replied another. “This is awful. How are some of these guys in the MLB?”

“After the Timberwolves collapse to the Grizzlies & Wild lose as a -600 to the Coyotes, Twins had to give Minnesota some hope,” another fan said.

A tough one to swallow for Tigers fans.

But on the bright side (or maybe not) they get 146 more cracks at it, starting Wednesday night at 7:40 PM.
