Over the years, several notable athletes have posed for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue. Shooting for the 2022 edition of the legendary magazine is currently underway. Perhaps we’ll see another notable athlete or two posing for this year’s issue.
Danica Patrick is among the athletes who have posed for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
The former IndyCar and NASCAR driver posed for the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue in 2008 and again in ’09.
“You could actually say I was on the cover,” said Patrick, who posed in 2008 and ’09. “I had a little image in the top right corner of the cover. I think Bar Refaeli was the cover girl that year.”
It was an unforgettable experience for Patrick.
“I had so much fun. It was a great experience and I loved it completely. Like, I wish I was a swimsuit model because it was really fun,” she added.

Unsurprisingly, part of Patrick’s photoshoot with the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue was race car themed.

Patrick was also featured in a behind-the-scenes video for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s YouTube page.
Perhaps we’ll see another racing star or two featured in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue later this year.
The 2022 edition of the iconic magazine will hit newsstands later this year.
