It’s been a great year for Collin Morikawa, on and off the golf course. On Wednesday night, the two-time major champion had significant news to share with his fans on social media.

Morikawa and his girlfriend Katherine Zhu are officially engaged. He shared a picture of them on Twitter with this caption: “11.30.2021 My love, forever.”

Zhu posted the same picture on her Instagram account, writing “A lifetime together forever.”

Countless players on the PGA Tour have congratulated the happy couple on their engagement, such as Tony Finau and Kevin Na.

This year could even get better for Morikawa, who won the 2021 Open Championship.

If he can win this week’s Hero World Challenge, Morikawa will become the No. 1 player in the world for the first time in his career. At this moment, Jon Rahm is the top-ranked golfer.

Only three golfers have ever claimed the No. 1 ranking in the world before turning 25 years old. Those three players are Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth.

We’ll see if Morikawa can cap off this year with a huge win at the Hero World Challenge. And even if he doesn’t win, he still has an Open Championship and engagement to be proud of this year.
