This weekend, Oklahoma will unveil a Baker Mayfield statue at Heisman Park. Before that ceremony arrives, Mayfield is using his time away from the field to teach the current Sooners’ roster a thing or two.

On Friday, the official Twitter account for Oklahoma’s football team shared images of Mayfield at the facility talking to some of the players.

Mayfield had an outstanding career with the Sooners, throwing for 12,292 yards and 119 touchdowns. He became a fan favorite in Norman due to his star production and outgoing personality.

Judging by the photos that Oklahoma released, Mayfield looks happy to be back at his alma mater.

Unsurprisingly, Oklahoma fans are glad Mayfield is back in Norman.

“I can’t even describe how freaking happy this makes me,” one fan tweeted. “Our boy is back in Norman.”

“Baker looking healthy physically and mentally and looking happy to be home,” another fan wrote.

Mayfield is currently waiting to figure out what’s next for his NFL career. The expectation around the league is that the Browns will move him at some point in the future.

Regardless of where Mayfield ends up, it’s clear that Oklahoma will always be his home.
