There's basically nothing better than a day at the salon. But one person really had the internet rolling when he shared the adorable makeover he gave his Dachshund at the hair salon recently. He looked like a mermaid!

Matty Rossi of Boston, Massachusetts loves his Doxie Kirkland. So much so that he wanted to give the pup the royal treatment and get his dog a fancy new 'do.

Can you even imagine the buzz at the hair salon that day? A man was there to get his dog a treatment. How fun! The video that Rossi shared online shows the Doxie during and after getting hair extensions. His dad chose blue extensions, of course, because his Dachshund is in his "barista era."

Kirkland was so good as the stylist worked quickly to give him two blue highlights. And now he gets to look like he going to spend the weekend at Coachella.

People in the comments section couldn't stop laughing. "Stop it if I had a long haired [dog] I would definitely be doing the same," wrote one person. "OMG he is now ready for the Kesha concert," another commenter joked. "At first I was like OMG this is ridiculous but then I saw him looking soooo adorable!!!" gushed another person. "Kirkland, do you feel bonita? Because you look bonita!" one person praised.

Pet Friendly Spa Treatments

If you're going for a spa day and want to treat your dog too, there are several ways to pamper your pup.

While it may be a chore at home, there's nothing like a nail trim to get your dog feeling fancy. They may not love it during the nail trim, but trust us — after a trim your dog will feel so much better. Some pet salons will even paint your dog's nails.

Some pet spas will give your dog a bath that includes shampoo, conditioner, and a rinse — or a message. Even dogs like messages. This can be great for promoting flexibility, relaxation, and pain relief. Another treatment dogs love is getting their ears cleaned, which can be important to help prevent discomfort and ear infections.

You can also give your dog some "spa treatments" at home too. This usually means keeping their teeth cleaned, giving them a good brushing, and trimming their fur. Again, your dog might not exactly recognize this as "relaxing" at first. But if you have a handful of treats nearby that should certainly help them get into the spirit.
