Local roads and I-41 lanes to close as WisDOT plans removal of overpass bridge

LITTLE CHUTE - The Rose Hill Road Interstate 41 overpass in Little Chute will close from Monday, May 6, through mid-September.

Construction crews are removing and replacing the overpass as part of the I-41 expansion project.

For the duration of the removal, all northbound and southbound lanes of the interstate will be periodically closed overnight. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation has not yet specified when the interstate lanes will be closed.

Along with replacing the overpass, the expansion project plans to widen I-41 between Grand Chute and De Pere to three lanes in each direction.

The 23-mile stretch will additionally get some upgraded exits and sound barriers near residential areas over the next five years.
