Donations from local organizations and individuals will pay for a free Thanksgiving luncheon Friday for military veterans.

The central Ohio office of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is sponsoring the event. It will take place Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Bob Evans restaurant at 1380 N. Hamilton Road in Gahanna.

There’s no signup in advance, but veterans must bring a military or veteran ID with them. They can bring one guest each for the meal.

People attending can order their free meal off the Bob Evans menu.
