Lizzo just made a triumphant return to the Grammys stage.

The pop star proved that her mic was on with a beautiful rendition of her empowering title track from her chart-topping album Special. She promised to "take [the crowd] to church" in her intro, before beginning her passionate performance, accompanied by an all-female choir dressed in glamorous gold robes. As for her outfit, Lizzo looked gorgeous in a black satin minidress with puffy long sleeves, bejeweled vertical stripes along the snatched torso, and a sheer maxi-skirt overlay.

The three-time Grammy winner is up for five Grammys tonight, including Record of the Year, Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance for her single "About Damn Time;" and Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Special.

The "Truth Hurts" singer made a bright entrance on the red carpet earlier tonight, in a vibrant orange gown and matching cape by Dolce & Gabbana. While the dress—which featured a corset bodice adorned with white vertical stripes—was in a lighter shade of orange, her long cape was in a darker coral hue and embellished with flowers.

Last year, Lizzo opened up to People about incorporating confidence and body positivity into her music, saying that she's embracing her status as a "body icon."

"It may not be one person's ideal body type just like, say, Kim Kardashian might not be someone's ideal, but she's a body icon and has created a modern-day beauty standard. And what I'm doing is stepping into my confidence and my power to create my own beauty standard. And one day that will just be the standard."
