Head coach Mike McDaniel leads quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and the Dolphins (8-3) against the Commanders (4-8) in a 1 p.m. kickoff. Fox is scheduled to broadcast the AFC East-NFC East matchup.
Tagovailoa and star wide receiver Tyreek Hill will continue a historic pursuit of 2,000 receiving yards in a single season against the NFL's worst statistical secondary. Hill enters the game as the NFL leader in receiving yards (1,324) and touchdowns (10).
Running back Raheem Mostert is second in the NFL in rushing yards (785) and leads in rushing touchdowns (13). He could get backfield help with the return of rookie De'Von Achane, who's battled injuries in his first NFL season.

The Commanders limp into the contest after a disastrous 45-10 loss at the Dallas Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 331 yards and four touchdowns in the win.
Washington quarterback Sam Howell enters the contest as the NFL leader in passing yards (3,339).

Tyreek Hill has his second long touchdown of the first half as the star wide receiver caught a 60-yard touchdown from Tua Tagovailoa to extend Miami's lead.

Andrew Van Ginkel intercepted Commanders quarterback Sam Howell and returned it for a touchdown. Miami is leading Washington 17-0 with 55 seconds left in the first quarter.
Van Ginkel also has a sack in the first quarter.

The Dolphins will have rookie running back De'Von Achane in uniform today. Achane has been hampered by a knee injury and has just one carry for 1 yard since the Oct. 8 game against the New York Giants.
Achane is averaging 11.8 yards per carry, but Raheem Mostert is second in the league in rushing and first in rushing touchdowns, so Miami should have its 1-2 punch today.
The Dolphins also will have left tackle Terron Armstead on the field today.
