How the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Dallas Cowboys 26-17 on Sunday Night Football

Fourth-quarter key plays

PHI 11th possession: Eagles take over at the PHI 49. A couple of running plays, wrapped around the Cowboys’ final timeouts and an unsportsmanlike penalty, as the clock runs out and the Eagles go 6-0 and the Cowboys drop to 4-2.

DAL 10th possession: Starts at DAL 12 with 2:35 remaining. Cowboys drive to Philadelphia 41 where Brent Maher misses 59-yard field goal. Ball turns over to the Eagles.

PHI 10th possession: Starts at PHI 47. Drive goes 5 yards. Punt goes out of bounds at PHI 11 with 2:39 left.

DAL 9th possession: Starts at DAL 25 and lasts just four plays as Rush is intercepted for a third time. C. Gardner-Johnson grabs his second of the night. Drive over. Likely, game over. 5:03 left.

PHI 9th possession: Starts at PHI 25. Eagles go 75 yards on 13 plays, capped by a Hurts to Smith 7-yard touchdown pass. Sanders’ two-point conversion run fails. Eagles lead 26-17 with 7:02 left.

DAL 8th possession continues at PHI 12. Cooper Rush to Jake Ferguson for a 7-yard touchdown pass (his first career TD reception). Maher’s extra point pulls Cowboys within 20-17 with 14:39 left in the game.

Third-quarter key plays

DAL 8th possession: Starts at DAL 7 with 6:46 remaining in quarter. Cowboys go 81 yards on 14 plays to take the ball to the PHIL 12 at the end of the quarter.

PHI 8th possession: Starts at PHI 30. Drive is extended by personal foul on Micah Parsons, but drive ends on sack by Fowler. Eagles punt to Cowboys. Holding penalty on Dallas on punt return, but they get ball back.

DAL 7th possession: Starts at DAL 21. Cowboys go no-huddle and march down the field. Ezekiel Elliott’s 14-yard touchdown run caps a 9-play, 79-yard drive. Maher’s extra point pulls the Cowboys to within 20-10 with 8:19 left in quarter.

PHI 7th possession: Starts at PHI 25. Eagles pick up 15 yards on four plays, then punt to DAL.

Cooper Rush is just 5 of 16 for 36 yards and two interceptions; while Jalen Hurts is 11 of 17 for 111 yards and a touchdown.

PHI 4th possession: Starts at DAL 34. Three plays gain just 3 yards. Eagles settle on a Jake Elliott 51-yard field goal. Eagles lead 17-0 with 7:53 remaining in the half.
