Live results: Iowa state track and field meet 2024 for Friday's events

The most important few days in the high school track and field season have arrived for athletes across the state.

It's finally the Iowa high school track and field meet. The events kicked off Thursday and will run through the evening on Saturday. Several athletes will claim state titles and plenty of teams will look to claim the all-important team championship when all is said and done Saturday night.

The action gets rolling on Friday with Class 2A and Class 3A, which kick things off with the girls distance medley relay final at 9 a.m. Several throwing events for those classes also start at 9 a.m. The first session wraps up at 2:10 p.m. and the afternoon session gets rolling at about 2:40, which is when athletes from Class 1A and 4A schools will take to the track.
