FOLLOW LIVE: First round of Massachusetts high school football scores and highlights
The MIAA high school football state tournament will kick off on Thursday night.
Abington is the lone local team playing in the playoffs on Thursday night, as the No. 2 Green Wave will host No. 15 Stoneham at 7 p.m. The other 22 South Shore teams that qualified for the playoffs will take the field on Friday night.
The South Shore teams that didn't qualify for the playoffs will play the first of two non-qualifier games this weekend. That action is spread out across Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
