The Porsche 911 GT3 is one of our favorite cars on sale right now. If you're a Road & Track regular, you'll know we named it our Performance Car of the Year for 2022 thanks to its unparalleled performance and overwhelming character.

Much of that character comes from its old-school six-speed manual transmission and 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six, capable of revving to 9000 rpm. What better place to make use of those items than on Germany's autobahn, where there is no speed limit?

That's likely why the folks over at AutoTopNL on YouTube thought once they got their hands on this stick-shift GT3. Video above shows an inside view of the car hopping onto de-restricted zones of the German highway system and blasting toward redline again and again, just for our pleasure.

The GT3 routinely crests 200 km/h (roughly 124 mph) throughout the video, at one point indicating a maximum speed of 287 km/h (178 mph). That's a bit off Porsche's top speed claim of 199 mph. Considering how quickly the car was still accelerating before the driver came up to traffic, we're sure it could get there given enough room.
