Lisa Marie Presley – the only child of music legend Elvis Presley – has tragically passed away at the age of 54 after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Outlet TMZ reported that the star was found unresponsive in her bedroom on Thursday morning (12 January) by her housekeeper. Her ex-husband Danny Keough, who also lives at the property, then performed CPR, the website said.

When paramedics arrived, they administered at least one dose of epinephrine during resuscitation efforts. According to TMZ, paramedics were able to regain a pulse before Lisa Marie was transported to the hospital, where she later passed away.

"It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us," her mother, Priscilla Presley, said in a statement after the news broke. "She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known."

"We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss," Priscilla went on.

Lisa Marie was last seen in public on Tuesday night at the Golden Globes Awards in Beverly Hills. She was joined by her mother and the pair were seen crying as they watched the ceremony, where Austin Butler won Best Actor in a Film Drama for his portrayal of Elvis in Baz Luhrmann's movie.

During an emotional acceptance speech, the actor thanked the Presley family for their help during the film. "Thank you guys, thank you for opening your hearts, your memories, your home to me," Austin said. "Lisa Marie, Priscilla, I love you forever."
