'The Lincoln Lawyer' Will Face More Life-or-Death Cases in Season 3
Season 2 of The Lincoln Lawyer, based Michael Connolly's popular series of legal thrillers, is now streaming on Netflix. The second half of the season, which dropped on August 3, wrapped up the serialized plot which followed attorney Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) as he went head to head with prosecutor Andy Freeman (Yaya DaCosta) while representing his latest client, chef Lisa Trammell (Lana Parilla), who has been accused of murdering a real estate developer.
Following the thrilling conclusion to Season 2, which wraps up Lisa's case, fans of The Lincoln Lawyer might find themselves wondering where Mickey and his towncar will go next. Here's everything we know about the future of the show.
Will there be a Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer?
It's official, The Lincoln Lawyer will return for Season 3, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter. It's set to return for another 10 episodes, which is plenty of time for Mickey to dive into another case.
What will Season 3 be about?
Season 1 of the show was based on the second Mickey Haller story, The Reversal. (The first novel in the series, The Lincoln Lawyer, had already been adapted into a Matthew McConaughey film), and Season 2 was based on book three, The Fifth Witness. So it stands to reason that if they make Season 3, then its storyline will be plucked from the fourth novel in the series. In The Gods of Guilt, Mickey receives a text from an old client who is in desperate need of his help getting out of a dangerous situation—which he may have inadvertently created.
Who will be in Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer?
The entire main cast is likely return, including Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Mickey Haller, Jazz Raycole as Izzy, Angus Sampson as Cisco, and Becki Newton as Lorna. There's one notable exception, however: Neve Campbell as Maggie.
At the end of Season 2, Maggie left for a job in San Diego after her demotion gave her less cases. And along with the official announcement for Season 3, THR confirmed Campbell would not reprise her role. It's possible Maggie could return in future seasons as she still has a presence in the book series, but for now we're saying goodbye.
