This Treatment Gave Me Hair Like Jennifer AnistonHearst Owned

As much as I love my job as a beauty editor—testing every fancy deep conditioner and leave-in conditioner and hairspray out there—I'm extremely discerning with what I put on my head. So when the LolaVie Intensive Repair Treatment found its way to my desk, I admittedly stuffed it in my drawer with the intent of passing it off to another Cosmo staffer with thicker hair than mine. Sure, it looks stunning on Jennifer Aniston (what doesn't?), but I figured it would just weigh down my fine, thin hair.

So color me shocked: I finally gave this conditioning treatment a chance and realized it's actually a dream for my hair type. In one use (aka 10 whole minutes), my hair felt softer, stronger, and smoother—no heavy, greasy residue at all. Dare I say, I even resembled JenAn—a little! Scroll on for my full review:

Pros:

It only takes 10 minutes (or less!).

I love an everything shower as much as the next person, but I have absolutely no patience to stand naked in my bathroom while my deep conditioner marinates. That's why I was thrilled when I saw I only needed to leave this on my hair for five to 10 minutes. I usually just quickly shampoo, then massage this into my hair, and then do all the other shower bits while it's working its magic: body wash, scrub, face wash, shave, etc. I can easily work it into my routine once a week without needing to plan an afternoon around hair washing.

It's loaded with lightweight moisturizers.

Unlike other repairing deep conditioners, this one features a slew of lightweight moisturizers instead of the heavy oils and butters that usually weigh down my hair. It blends squalane, glycerin, chia seed extract, coconut extract, and omega fatty acids—all of which moisturize the heck outta my hair, both leaving my strands smooth and silky while actually hydrating it from the inside out.

I love that it only uses light proteins.

Here's the thing about protein treatments, often referred to as "damage repair" products: They're usually loaded with proteins, which your hair def needs if you color, heat-style or chemically treat your hair, which I dod. But (!) add too much protein, and your hair will actually look dehydrated and brittle. So I freakin' love that this incorporates a chia seed-based bonding complex, which essentially creates a shield around my hair strands to prevent damage without going overboard on protein.

I smoothed this on last week after I got some highlights, and my hair looked so healthy, even after a bleaching session. But I'm not worried it'll be too much, so long as I stick to only layering it on once a week.

Cons:

It might not be moisturizing enough for very coarse, dry hair types.

As much as my straight, fine hair <3s this formula, it's probably going to be a lil too lightweight to truly deep comdition coarse, thick hair that needs lots of moisture. Instead, you could probably keep this in your rotation as a low-protein, moisturizing daily conditioner instead. You also could slather this on, wait 10 minutes, then top it off with another deep conditioner for a richer, more moisturizing effect.

The bottom line:

The LolaVie Intensive Repair Treatment is the GOAT for moisturizing my fine, thin hair—but I could also see it being fab as a smoothing treatment for thicker hair as well. I already knew I loved the Glossing Detangler for giving me silky, shiny hair, but the two of 'em together? Dream team alert. No wonder Jennifer Aniston always looks so damn good.
