“The View ”Teases Its 'Big Move' to a 'Hot New Studio' in Season 28 Promo (Exclusive)
"You never know what's going to happen here," longtime co-host Whoopi Goldberg says in the clip, which PEOPLE can exclusively debut
The View is getting ready for hot new season in a "hot new studio"!
ABC News' long-running daytime hit will kick off its 28th season on Tuesday, Sept. 3. And while the panel of Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sara Haines, Sunny Hostin, Ana Navarro and Alyssa Farah Griffin may be the same, there is one big new change on the way.
"Y'all know we're moving, right?" Goldberg says in a new promo for the show, which PEOPLE can debut exclusively.
Those who caught season 27's final episode on Aug. 2 certainly know about the move. That's where Hostin announced the show would be departing its space in New York City's Upper West Side and heading downtown, to the Walt Disney Company’s recently completed 22-story Manhattan headquarters in Hudson Square.
"This is the final episode of the season and, after 10 years and 2,143 episodes, this is also the last show we'll do from this studio. We're sad to say goodbye, but we're thrilled to be moving to a brand-new studio downtown," Hostin said, calling the space "state of the art."
Prior to its 10-year spot on the Upper West Side, The View taped from another studio in the same neighborhood, down the same street. It was a building the show shared with ABC soaps like All My Children and One Life to Live.
It's not clear if The View will get a new set to go with its new studio, as the promo doesn't feature a sneak peek of the space. It does, however, show Goldberg, Behar, Haines, Hostin, Navarro and Farah Griffin carrying boxes to their "fabulous new home."
"Yes, The View is on the move," says Haines, with Hostin adding, "We're moving downtown to the hottest new studio to match our hot topics."
While Navarro transports her sweet poodle ChaCha in a box, Behar gives up easily. "I'm not carrying these boxes," the comedian quips. "Let Alyssa do it!"
"Sure," Farah Griffin says, walking with two boxes to everyone else's one. "I'm used to heavy lifting. I'm a republican on The View," she jokes.
The promo goes on to note that though there will be a new season with new hot topics and a new studio, the show will remain in its longtime weekday timeslot: 11 a.m. ET.
"You never know what's going to happen here," Goldberg teases.
