Although we’re nearing the end of Riverdale’s run (season seven marks the final chapter for the CW series), there’s still some behind-the-scenes secrets to spill.

During an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, which aired on Wednesday, August 17, Lili Reinhart — who famously portrays Betty Cooper on the drama — revealed that the actors aren’t “really even allowed to kiss with tongue.”

“You can only be so much of an adult on a CW show,” the actress shared with host Josh Horowitz. “That aspect of things are a little different.”

Lili shared this tidbit of information while discussing her hopes and plans for acting projects post-Riverdale.

“I have a lot of, sort of, dramatic, deep roles in my future after Riverdale. Definitely roles you have not seen me in, and I’m an adult. I’m an adult woman, and I’m going to start playing those more adult roles,” she said.

“Playing more diverse and complicated, messier characters — that’s what’s on my horizon and I couldn’t be more excited,” Lili added.

Of course, we dread the day we have to say our final goodbye to Betty, Archie Andrews, Jughead Jones, Veronica Lodge, Cheryl Blossom, and the rest of the Riverdale residents, but we seriously cannot wait to see what roles Lili takes on next.
