I tried Vionic's newest recovery sandals — and they're truly amazing

If you're someone whose feet ache long before the end of the day, then you understand what I experience. After a few hours of nonstop walking and standing, my high arches ache and the balls of my feet scream. When I get home, all I want to do is slip off my shoes and relax, but going barefoot doesn't provide enough support. I've tried plenty of plush slippers and every type of cushiony "recovery" sandals. While they all felt comfortable, none were perfect. So when I heard that Vionic, a brand created by a podiatrist, made recovery shoes, I knew I had to give them a whirl.

Vionic shoes have a reputation for being amazing for people with foot problems. After all, they are approved by The American Podiatric Medical Association. Plus, the brand conducts studies about the comfort and support of its shoes.

The new recovery shoes, which come in two different styles and several cool colors, balance cushioning along with the necessary support that keeps feet happy even after hours of wear. It's a marriage made in heaven. And it's exactly what I wanted; nay, needed. Other brands were very comfortable and felt good for a while, but none had enough arch support for me to wear around the house for a few hours in the evening. Vionic's cradled my feet in delicious relief.

If you haven't heard of recovery shoes by now, they are typically rubber slides or flip-flop-style sandals with a thick sole that are made for wearing after exercise or extended periods to help relieve swelling and soreness. You don't have to be an athlete to benefit from them, though. Countless average people have been snatching up the various models. Even Oprah is a convert (not that she's an average person)!
