Tobey Maguire is Down to Play Spider-Man AgainMarvel

Tobey Maguire may have had, ahem, no way home in the third entry of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man trilogy, but the fantastical Spidey team-up proved that Maguire always has a home in the red-and-blue tights. Of course, we're all asking: will we see the original live-action Peter Parker return once again? Well, Spider-Man: No Way Home going on to become one of the top ten highest grossing films of all time may have Sony and Marvel’s eyes dizzy with dollar signs. According to Maguire, he’s down to suit up again.

“I love these films and I love all of the different series,” Maguire told Marvel in a behind-the-scenes interview set to be published in the Spider-Man No Way Home: The Official Movie Special book. “If these guys called me and said, ‘Would you show up tonight to hang out and goof around?’ or ‘Would you show up to do this movie or read a scene or do a Spider-Man thing?’ It would be a ‘Yes!’ Because why wouldn’t I want to do that?”

“When they called initially, I was like finally!” Maguire recalled. “I got the call and was immediately open about coming to do this. Not without nerves—you know, ‘What will this look like and what will the experience be?’ But to get to show up with beautiful, talented, creative people and play together? It’s just like, ‘Yes!’ It’s fun and exciting.”

There are actually a number of Spider-Man stories where the character grows older, marries MJ, and even has a daughter named Annie—but I don’t want to run away theorizing every way Maguire can come back to the series just yet. Thinking about Maguire and Sam Raimi returning to Sony for the long-scrapped Spider-Man 4 starring John Malkovich as the Vulture is going to make to get my Spidey senses tingling. Marvel, he’s just a phone call away.
