T&C Tried & True: The Everyday Pants You'll Want in Every Color

I'll admit it, I love pants. While I get the appeal, the simple truth is I've never been a skirt girl. They bring out an extra dose of the silly little inner anxieties that plague most of my days—am I showing too much leg? is the way I'm sitting ladylike? what if there's a strong breeze?—that I frankly just don't need from my outfits. Life is hard enough. So, though I admire skirts and dresses from afar, the reality is that I spend 90% of my everyday life in pants.

Consequently, I'm rather picky about my trouser selection. In my opinion, a truly great pair needs to offer equal parts style, mobility, and comfort, and while I have a closet full of options I'm fond of, there are only a select few that achieve top tier status. The latest addition? Athleta's Endless High Rise Pants (shout out to my aunt for introducing me to them.)

Given their provenance, it's no shock that these trousers are comfortable. Crafted from a structured yet stretchy fabric (made from recycled polyester sourced from post-consumer plastic bottles) they're all the things you would look for in classic athleisure wear: sweat wicking, quick drying, wrinkle resistant, and ultra-cozy with a soft, wide, stretch waistband that defies the concept of muffin top.

However, these aren't just glorified leggings. The fabric has a nice hefty weight, so they drape elegantly and look like actual workwear. They even have a faux-zip front placket to complete the ambience. They hit flatteringly at the ankle, which gives the look a touch of modern style, instantly showing off your weekend sneakers or office heels. The style also has four (count them! four!) real-deal pockets that are spacious enough to use for more than a business card: two back pockets and two hidden-zipper hip pockets.

Pair them with a button down and blazer and you've got a look you could wear to any business function, but they style just as easily with a tee for running errands, or a "going out top" for drinks with friends. My power move has been to wear them while traveling, where they feel plenty cozy for long-haul flights, yet leave you looking put together once you arrive. Even better, that wrinkle-resistant factor means they pack flawlessly, because as you know, T&C is Team Carry-on. Plus, they're machine washable, because who needs one more thing to carry to the cleaners?

The style currently comes in 8 (largely neutral) colors, with sizes ranging from 0—26 so they can easily become a style staple in your closet, just as they have in mine.
