Suki Waterhouse Was Born to Wear This Chloé Dress

These days, all the girls are wearing Chloé. Since Chemena Kamali made her debut as creative designer of the French fashion house last fall, she has been getting the stamp of approval from all kinds of A-listers, recently including Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sydney Sweeney. But it’s Kamali’s latest champion, Suki Waterhouse, who may look the most at home in her designs.
Take one listen to the English singer-songwriter’s effortlessly cool tracks, like “Faded” or “My Fun,” and you can easily picture her in the latest Chloé collection, which fuses breezy bohemian aesthetics with feminine elegance. And when Waterhouse slipped into the brand’s boho dress as the opener on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour at Wembley Stadium this past weekend, it looked like a second skin. (Some social media users immediately branded it as Folklore-coded, due to the bohemian vibes of Swift’s eighth studio album.)
Styled by Rob Zangardi and Cassy Meier, the peach maxi gown billowed around Waterhouse like a coral reef, giving her a vintage ’70s-esque aesthetic that recalled her Daisy Jones & the Six character, Karen Sirko. (Queue that Taylor Swift lyric about looking like Stevie Nicks.)
The silky dress featured layers of transparent material that culminated in scalloped edges along the hems, slightly resembling the spires of the Sagrada Familia. These ruffles popped up all over the dress, creating a pyramid along the singer’s torso and adding depth to the entirety of the design.
To complete the look, Waterhouse gave a few cute nods to her musical host. She accessorized with a collection of friendship bracelets on one wrist (a tradition for Swifties to wear at her concerts) and slipped into brown suede cowboy boots, which winked to Taylor’s early musical days.
Waterhouse was clearly in fashion heaven, as indicated by her Instagram caption, where she showed off the frilly fit and wrote, “Eras tour outfit!!! @chemena @chloe made me the dress of my dreams 💕.” In this writer’s humble opinion, she was born to wear it.
