Shania Twain Reveals Her 5-Minute Beauty Routine for ‘Dewy and Fresh’ Skin at 58

In the video, the “Queen of Me” singer detailed how she achieves her “day-meeting, day camera, everything-goes” look in the mornings. “I’m getting ready for some meetings today here in LA, and I’m going to walk you through my five-minute makeup routine—the quick put-on-and-go kind of stuff,” she says in the video.

Brighten and highlight

The very first step in Twain’s makeup routine is putting on concealer. “I start with like, highlighter,” Twain says in the video, holding up a tube of concealer that appears to be Make Up For Ever’s HD Skin Smooth & Blur Undetectable Under Eye Concealer. She dabs a bit of the product under her eyes, on her eyelids, and around her mouth before blending it all in with a makeup brush for a bright, “highlighted” look. “This preps my eyes for some shadow,” she notes.

Next, Twain applies eyeshadow on her lids using a palette that looks to be the Charlotte Tilbury Luxury Eyeshadow Palette. “I use two colors, normally—they’re kind of like tawny, rusty colors and I think they’re kind of natural-looking so I like to use those,” she says. “Now I’m going to smooth it over with a lighter color—it’s like a blushy color, and it just kind of blends those together. I stick with the blushy tones for my eyes.”

After blending in her eyeshadow, Twain picks up an eyeliner (which looks strikingly similar to the Bobbi Brown Perfectly Defined Gel Eyeliner in the shade “Pitch Black”). “Then I go to a bit of liner—black,” she says, applying it to the outer corners of her eyes.

For the face, Twain opts to skip foundation—instead, she reaches for a face powder that appears to be Laura Mercier’s Candleglow transparent Perfecting Powder, which is designed to set your makeup and leave a luminous, soft-focus finish. She applies it all over her face with a makeup brush. “This is going to give me a smooth [look]—it’s just a powder with a bit of pigment in it, a very light pigment to match my face,” she explains. “And this is just going to help my blush go on smoothly.”

Next, Twain turns to an eyebrow pencil “to define [her] eyebrows a bit.” Her product of choice looks to be the Lancôme Brow Shaping Powdery Pencil which comes in the form of an easy-to-use, dual-ended pencil. The pencil end delivers a soft, long-wearing powder formula to fill in and define brows with easy strokes, while the spoolie brush at the other end helps to shape and groom arches.

Add some color

The next step in Twain’s makeup routine is to add some color to the face—but instead of using a traditional powder or cream blush, the star has a secret trick. “This is like one of my favorite things,” she says. “So often I use lipstick for blush. I like one with a bit of shimmer to it.” Twain uses a makeup brush to pick up some of the pigment on the lipstick, then sweeps the brush across the apples of her cheeks. “And I also put this up in my hairline,” she adds.

This special trick “gives color” to her face, Twain says. “I look kind of blushy, and I look—I guess dewy. Dewy’s the right word.” When it comes to choosing the lipstick, she has a special tip: “I would use a lipstick that looks great in the middle of your lip,” she advises. “You gotta match your skin tone, whatever would make you look like you’ve been in the sun for a little bit.”

Finish with shimmer

For the finishing touch, Twain has another trick up her sleeve. “This is one of my absolute favorite things to do,” she says. “So I put lip gloss that’s got shimmer in it, and not a lot of pigment at all, and the idea is to put it right where your crow’s feet are—well, that’s if you have crow’s feet, of course.”

Just like the lipstick-for-blush hack, she uses a makeup brush to get some of the lip gloss—which looks similar to the Tarte H20 Gloss—before sweeping it around her eyes. “I know that there’s a lot of cream shimmers and stuff on the market, but this—I don’t know, there’s just something really special about it that makes you look really dewy and fresh,” she says.
